Should i trust the amount of calories the calculator gave me from IIFYM?! its saying i can eat 1559
with 108.5 (c) 148 (p) and 59.2 (fat)

just seems like a lot of cals because when on MFP i set a goal to lose weight it gives me 1200 cals... just unsure.

i want to trust the whole macro counting but im 100% new to it and dont want to gain weight from it. i had gotten to my goal weight and lost 80lbs but then i had my wedding and honeymoon and a second vacation and over 2 months gained 10 lbs because i was not able to really work out. i really wanna get back down to 130lbs and dont want this to hurt me but also i struggle at only eating 1200 cals on somedays!

any tips?!

Are you set at 0.5 pounds per week?

MFP won't set a goal calorie amount at lower than 1200 calories. That's the minimum. Someone with just 10 pounds to lose can't easily lose 2 pounds per week because that would be a 1000 calorie deficit every day. Larger bodies can handle larger deficits.

If you are concerned about the macros, ignore them at first. Concentrate on the calorie goal. Once you are more comfortable with how MFP works, you can start paying closer attention to the macros.

If 1200 feels too low and changing your MFP setting to 0.5 pounds per week doesn't bump it up a bit, try 1400 and see how you do with that. Be vigilant about weighing foods for your food diary because little differences matter more when you have less to lose.
  • no im set to lose 2lbs per week and it put me at 1200 cals. i have used mfp for several months now. when i did my goals just like i had in the past except now its with my new weights it says 1200 cals per day. @seska422

Change to 0.5 pounds per week and see how many calories you get with that.

If you are hungry at 1200, eat 1500. If you want to lose faster and want to put up with being hungry, eat 1200. Even at that, with how little you have left to lose and considering the calories that 0.5 pounds gave you, 1200 will put you at maybe 1 pound per week.

Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. You'll get there. Good luck!
