Hello everyone! I'd like to just have some support in general and know real people are struggling with the same things I am now.

I've used MFP off and on previously and liked it. Exactly 4 days ago I started a new app on my phone that has a 4 week gradual workout program. Today, I bought a scale and weighed myself for the first time in years. I've always been overweight but as a 5'7" female my body naturally stayed around 180 lbs for most my adult life so far. Today, the scale told me I weighed 220 lbs. That's 40 lbs more then my normal weight. I never dreamed I weighed more then 200 even though I knew I had gained some recently. I contribute my weight gain to horrible eating habits due to a busy work schedule and lack of planning, and lack of exercise in general.

So here I am. Determined to at the very least make it below 200 and ideally back to my normal 180. It felt good to at least get that off my chest and I really feel I'm on the road to a healthier life; would love to have some pals along the way!

Hey, I am exactly the same, I have sickened myself with my weight and I am definitely making changes- I am looking to roughly lose 4stone( 56lb) but I think this may be extremely unrealistic in one Go so my aim is to lose 1 stone ( 14lb) each time then start the next step.
Good luck and if you wanna chat feel free to add- could maybe keep each other motivated

I know how hard it can to weigh yourself and be totally shocked at the result - This happened to me 5 months ago and I told myself I'd never, ever see that number again. I have lost 30lbs since that day - you can totally do this. Forget that number, move on and focus on the future. You've taken that first step :]

At my heaviest, I weighed 232 lbs. I've lost over 80 lbs. to date. Tracking my food and watching my macros has been key to the weight loss. I also lift weights and ride my bike for cardio. This has helped to not just burn calories, but building muscle has helped to improve everything overall. The hard part is dealing with setbacks and sticking with the goals you set for yourself. I recommend setting a goal, making it your mission and not letting anything come in between you and your goal. Today is a good start. Keep on keeping on!
