edited November 2024 in Getting Started
I started on MFP recently. I've been logging my food and am wearing my fitbit. I need to increase my steps but that is the goal for next week. This week the goal is to log all of my food all week. I was 303 last week and am at 298 this week. I need to get down to at least 160. I will reevaluate when I get below 200. But since I haven't been near 200 in over 10 years and I wasn't happy with my weight then I am thinking 160 will be a good starting point for goals.

I'm a 37 year old single mom with a teenage son. I'm 5 ft 9 inches tall.

Feel free to add me or message me. I'm looking for groups. I need the check in to keep me motivated.

Thanks.

Hello :) I am trying to loose 110 pounds. I am 21 from Ohio and I began in January at 274, so right now I am 218. Good luck!

Welcome to the Rest of your Life. :) Picking one goal at a time is a great way to get started.

I have used a Fitbit for over a year & a half, and it was a real eye opener for me. I knew I wasn't active, but it gave me dose of reality as to how inactive I was. Now I move more to avoid going back. Moving more & tracking my calories with MFP: I lost 50ish pounds and am almost to a year of maintenance.

Hi Alexis.. Great job on your loss so far. I hope to be in your shoes one day in the not too distant future. Thank you!

StaciMarie - Thank you for your kind words. I was obsessive with Fitbit last winter but my psych changed my medication and I went in to a major depression. They have since been adjusted again and I am working on getting myself back to where I was. I'm currently doing about 7,000 to 8,000 on average a day. I was averaging 14,000 to 17,000 steps per day before I got sick. Baby steps.
