Anyone lose a lot of weight using fitbit?

Anyone lose a significant amount of weight while using a fitbit? Do you think it was the fitbit that motivated you?
How many steps did you start off taking?
How many did you take now?
Any info/advice will help!
I've just started myself and I'm up to 20-30k steps a day.
The challenges really motivate me to keep stepping.
I'm just curious if all of this stepping will really make a difference in my weight loss?
I do eat healthy now also.

I started using a Fitbit in 2013 about a month or so after I started using MFP.
I had already lost some weight before getting it.
When I first got it:
Avg steps less than 3000 per day typically
It would typically take away calories or with exercise I would meet MFPs expected calorie burn for a Sedentary person with my stats.
I typically had to eat less than 1500 calories.
I was in the 200's at the time with a goal to get to 130 lbs.
Over time I found the Fitbit I was using unerestimated my TDEE by about 200 calories per day on average. This changed when I got the Surge.
Now:
I average around 13,000 steps.
I eat around 2000 calories on average to lose weight.
I'm a few lbs away from my new goal of 122 lbs now. (hit a new low this morning that puts me 4 lbs away)
So I use my Fitbit to monitor my activity and I eat the adjustments from it in MFP. It has helped me lose weight along with the use of a food scale and MFP.0 -
I, too, have been using MFP + Fitbit since 2013. I lost the weight—and have kept it off.
Your Fitbit burn is TDEE (total daily energy expenditure), the calories necessary to maintain your current weight. Fitbit challenges are great motivation—and fun. But you still have to log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. Exercise for fitness; log to lose weight.

Down 30 lbs since I got my charge HR back in April.0

I'm down 60 lbs since February.
I use a Fitbit Zip.0 -
I got my Flex in April this year. I've lost about 20 pounds since then for a total of 32. Had some battery problems with my Flex in July and had to do without it for a few weeks until the company sent the replacement. My weight loss stalled for a while. I find the information I get from the tracker to be very valuable as a tool in my weight loss.
Yesterday was my day off and my desire to eat more than 1400 calories got me pretty motivated to get out and go for a walk. Those negative adjustments are great motivation to move more when you might prefer to be lazy all day.0 -
I use the Fitbit One since the beginning of my weightloss journey at the end of 2013. Now I use it in combination with a Polar multisportswatch with heart rate monitor which I use for all of my cardio exercises. The combination of both was and is highly motivating as I want to "earn" myself calories. I like eating...and I eat most of my "earned" calories back. I have successfully maintained my goal weight for nearly a year now. It works fantastically well for me.0

Down 105 in 15 months. Fitbit for 14 months. Started around 5000 steps, now at 9000. I work from home sitting st computer, so I have to deliberately go out on walks to get steps. I also like that it tracks floors, which for me are hills. When I started I couldn't even walk the 2 floors my driveway is worth. Now I do about 15 per day. FB ONE.0
