Candida

I am fairly certain I suffer from Candida. I am only 18 years old and I am finding it extremely difficult to deal with this. I have many of the symptoms, including, but not limited to: depression. chronic fatigue, lack of energy, chronic digestive issues, mood swings, severe muscle aches and pains. I have been dieting and exercising since January and have lost 50 pounds. I feel like I have been cheated out of some of the rewards I should have received with this achievement. I thought I would feel lively, energetic, and happy. But I feel the opposite. Though I have the mental motivation(most days) to workout, my body refuses to work as hard as I want it to. I started 20:4 fasting because my body cannot tolerate food without stomach pain and back pain(with the exception of green superfood drink that I have in the afternoon). As a result, I feel as though I am hardly getting enough calories to sustain what little energy this infection leaves me. It has been the most upsetting thing to got through this.To feel like my body is giving up on me. I cut out fruit, dairy(except whey protein, I guess that's next), and gluten. I am taking antifunals and candida fighting supplements. I don't know what to do.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Has anyone gone through something similar? Perhaps it isn't Candida as all.

Thank you in advance.

Have you been checked out for auto immune diseases like celiacs? or what about fibromyalgia? MIght be worth looking into. I'm sensitive to gluten so I try to stay away from it. I don't have celiacs though and I do indulge once in a while, but I try to stay away from it. If it is celiacs you could be getting cross contaminated just by using the same utensils that have touched gluten in the past or using a toaster that also has toasted regular bread. Just a suggestion. You should really talk to a doctor about what could be the problem. :) Good Luck.

If you are struggling with depression, chronic fatigue, lack of energy, mood swings and pain may be part of that territory. Aches and pains and digestive issues may be part of your exercise and diet changes. Honestly there is A LOT it could be.

I think it would be a good idea to schedule a physical with you doctor.
  • Thank you for the replies! I will definitely schedule an appointment with my doctor.
  • I am not a medical professional AT ALL, but in my opinion, this seems like something more than candida. I think you should schedule an appointment with your doctor or an endocrinologist to rule out other conditions. Good luck!
