Anyone had problems with email hacked?

This is the only "diet" website I use, and I also use the mobile app. My email got hacked and someone got my contact list. The reason I'm wondering if it's something to to with this site or the app is the bogus emails my friends are getting all have to do with weight loss. Just wondering.

Weight loss pills etc are a standard spam merchandise so it may just be a coincidence.

I've not heard of anything like this before. I'd install some type of security though.
