"Eat for blood type" diet. 40something vegetarian(ish)

Recent visit to a Dr specializing in nutrition to help control cholesterol and lean out. Wants me to get back into tracking my food. Flowing the "eat for your blood type" diet philosophy. 1400 calories a day, 400 cals from protein/carb/fat. Recently had knee surgery and been vegetarian for last 6 months but my blood work is still really high so a battery of test I'm waiting for results on. So he would like me to bend the vegetarian diet and Also was told to supplement b12, CLA, L-glutamine, CoQ10, red yeast rice.

Hit me up. Misery loves company.

The 'eating for your blood type' thing is complete woo. No backing in science whatsoever. It's best to eat what you want in moderation - though in your case since you've got deficiencies, it's best to make sure you get those in your diet. Make sure to hit your protein, as that's the most important macro and can be hard for some vegetarians to meet.
    Good luck! :)

Did your doctor recommend that diet, or just that you lose weight and you thought that might be worth a try?
