I find food becomes a substitute for a friend when I am bored and lonely. I know this is ridiculous but hey it seems to fill a hole ...does anyone relate to this? I am Jen :)

Oh yes, I can relate for sure and it isn't usually an apple I reach for either.

    Of course!
  • How about creating a hobby instead so that you're too busy, to be lonely but at the same time, you'd be doing something else; that you enjoy. In fact I've been making losing weight a hobby, by tweaking & creating new recipes, charting my goals & progress, etc.

I think many of us can relate to this, so you're definitely not alone :]

Try and think of it like this: Food isn't our friend - it's our fuel. We need it to stay alive, we need it to function and we need it for energy but we don't need it to listen to our problems when we are sad. We don't need it to put our arms round us when life gets tough. We don't rely on it because it doesn't solve our problems. Food is fuel. Food isn't love - it's life. Love is friends, family, conversations, fun and excitement. Food gives you none of those things.

    Best of luck.
