No, neither one has benefits. Just drink it however you prefer it.0

Well if you're really warm, don't drink ice cold water. You can put yourself into shock. Other than that, I don't think it matters much.0

Old water might contain bacteria that could get you sick and prevent you from exercise to help you lose weight. I would stick with hot water just to be safe.

When it is cold out I have hot tea. When it is hot out I drink cold water.
A glass of cold water can divert a hot flash but perhaps you don't have to worry about that.
The Chinese believe that warm water with meals aids digestion, hence green tea served with dinner.0 -
I like room temperature. Go with what feels right.0

As far as weight loss goes, it makes no difference. Drink it whatever way you prefer .0

Temperature of the water makes no difference whatsoever...unless you're trying to drink boiling water. Which I don't recommend.
Seriously though, don't overthink this process or you'll drive yourself crazy. Just create a calorie deficit and you will lose weight.0 -

See that's something I believe but wasn't sure if I was crazy , I know its hard to tell but it made sense to me0 -
Is this a joke thread?0

Doesn't matter. I'm a fan of room temperature and hot water. I'll even heat mine up but I sing and talk a lot for a living so it is better for my throat.0

In my opinion, water is water. Keep yourself hydrated and forget the 'details' :]0

water is water.
i like to take showers in hot water and drink cold water.
i like my pool to feel like bath water.
i like clean water.
so the answer to hot or cold depends on what you are using aforementioned water FOR.
in regards to weight loss, its a ridiculous notion to think drinking water of one temperature or another will make any difference at all.0 -
Is this a joke thread?
i hope so, but sadly some people seem to believe that when its cold outside and you drink cold water your body works harder to warm your body back up in turn using more energy and burning more calories, and vise versa with hot days and hot water. LOL Amazing what people will believe.

It's a legit question. Drinking cold water can speed up the metabolism but the difference is small and not worth going out of your way to do.0

My mother-in-law only ever drank cooled boiled water and the odd cup of tea and she lived to be 100 - sorry but this thread just made me think of her
All I know is that we can't live without it and we should not be fussy how we drink it because some people have no water or only filthy water to drink.0 -

Except it is fact. Your body has to work harder the colder it is to stay warm. Your body wants to stay at 37F. If you drink 1L of water at 5C, it takes 32 kcal (or Calories in the US) to warm up the water.
However, it is mostly useless information. People don't drink that much, so at most it is an extra 64 calories (2 liters of cold water vs at 37F). Compared to room temperature drinks, it would be even less, at ~30 calories for 2 liters.
So, yes, it burns more calories, but compared to anything else it is essentially meaningless. I can burn an extra 60 calories within 10 minutes by going for a fast walk and I get some actual exercise.0 -
