Road trip and vacation to hometown

Hi there MFP's , my family and I are going back home to NY next week for the fourth of July ....I'm in the middle of what I call a pretty strict workout challenge right now , I'm doing INSANITY , I also count my calories and eat right ....so I'm here hoping y'all can shine some light on the situation for me , give some ideas of quick foods that will keep me going high in protein on the road type of stuff ...we are planning the trip on a Sunday which is my day off from workouts and coming back on Sunday ...so that's good, I will probably have to workout in front of my family which will be awkward ...haha, I focus really hard !! So anyway just some kind words of encouragement and some tips to get me through my first ever vacation since being on my journey to lifestyle change would be appreciated :) thanks !!

I rely on protein shakes an Quest bars while on vacation or business travel.

    I would say
    1. protein shakes for sure
    2. nuts (portioned correctly, they are quite high cal)
    3. carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumber sticks... you get the idea! With some hummus or PB
    4. fruit + yoghurt mixes (use plain, greek yogurt and the fruit will naturally sweeten it)
    5. maybe make your own protein bars? There are stacks of recipes out there

    good luck :)

Great ideas, so here's another question ...I'm fairly new here...are their premade protein shakes out their not powders ?? Maybe canned and ready to go ?? And are they readily available at gnc or something

ready to go ones are not NEARLY as good. The makeup of them isn't as good (at least from the ones I have seen, they all are really high cal and high sugar).

If they are powder, all you have to do theoretically is add water. Not rocket science, so can't go wrong! Plus you save lots of money
