HIIT

Hi. Would like to know if the HIIT program is as effective as people claim. Does it really work the extra mile as compared to traditional cardio?

In essence, HIIT is a resistance training idea in which low to moderate intensity intervals are alternated with high intensity intervals. You are getting the benefits of both endurance and strength conditioning with HIIT.
I absolutely think that a proven HIIT routine with clear, measurable goals and progression is better than doing something like 60-90 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and nothing else. Just don't morph HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) into Crossfit, otherwise known as HIST (High Intensity Stupid Training). Stick with HIIT!!

I am love HIIT! I can walk for 30 minutes and burn maybe 150 calories. 30 minutes of HIIT and I burn 300-400.0

What do you mean by "does it really work"? It's hard to compare HIIT to steady state cardio to lifting as they aren't all apples.
I think it's a great part of any routine, but a good routine will be well-rounded and balanced, including a variety of different workout styles. How well it "works" will really depend on your diet, your goals, and the rest of your routine.0
