Hello all my fellow Weight loss friends
about 2 weeks ago i completed my second round of insanity. (1 round = 1 full cycle through the calander in the program) more or less back to back. and phew it has been one heck of a ride.
Insanity is a tough workout dvd that lasts 2 months and it is dubbed the hardest workout put on DVD with the promise to get you in the best shape of your life
Since the 7th January 2013 i have lost 51 lbs with insanity and healthy (mostly) clean eating. all this in just over 5 months. going from 226lbs to 175lbs.
When i completed Round 1 i posted my results and it inspired a lot of people on the larger side to tackle insanity, so here i am again with the update. in the hope to give people the courage to push trough and do it.
Was it hard? DAMN right it was.
Did i want to quite? HELL YESS!
Was there tears? Yes as well as a little blood and lots of sweat .
Was it as hard as people make out? Yes and even harder when you are already tired from everyday life.
BUT it is not impossible. and that's my point! if you can push yourself through it you can get there...anyone can (in my opinion) with the right attitude achieve whatever they want!
If anyone wants to add me as a friend i am always happy to support as long as it goes both ways.
I will start with Fit tests. for those of you who have done insanity will know what this is. if not, just ignore this. ( a note, towards the middle of round 2 i had to take a short break due to been really ill so this does reflect in the results.) When i started back in January, i was not fit at all and my tummy got in the way sometimes so keep that in mind
Round 1:
1.Switch kicks 76 ,102 ,115,121........118
2. Power jacks 23 ,42, 41 , 47.............53
3. Power knees 72,98,114, 117...........121
4. Power jumps 14,27, 24, 30..............34
5. Globe jumps 8,10, 12, 14...............14
6. Suicide jumps 7,12, 13, 15...............15
7. Push up jacks 0, 4, 15, 19...............21
8. Low plank 14,24,36,43................44
oblique
Round 2 fit test results.
1.Switch kicks 109,119,111,120........126
2. Power jacks 48,51,52,59..................61
3. Power knees 124,103,111,119.........121
4. Power jumps 26,33,37,42...................43
5. Globe jumps 11,11.5,11,11.................11.5
6. Suicide jumps 11,16,17,20..................26
7. Push up jacks 12,17,14,18................21
8. Low plank 34,41,45,39..................47
oblique
So a huge improvement, not as big a change as round 1 but i never in my life through i would get those numbers (some even beat tanya aka the machine)
So on to measurements. i don't like weighing in with insanity as it isn't a great view of how you are doing. the scale goes up sometimes (for many reasons)but as long as the inches are falling off i try not to worry to much. i weighted and measured every fit test as this to me was a good bench mark for been consistent. also this is when i did my progress pics.
Round 1 measurements
measurements (inches)
Waist 40.5 - 36
Hips 44.5 - 43
Bum 44.5 - 40.5
Bust 39.5 - 36.5
Thighs 24.5 - 23
Arms 14 - 13
(bicep)
Round 2 measurements (inch)
Waist 36 -34.5
Hips 43 - 38
Bum 40.5 - 40
Bust 36.5 - 35
Thighs 23 - 21.5
Arms 13 - 11.5
(bicep)
and finally Pictures. now before you see these i do want to warn you that i am a big girl and these are not for the faint hearted. there are rolls involved and they are not necessarily pretty. but i wanted to give people an idea of what can realistically achieved. as most before and after pics are of thin people getting more toned. (which is awesome and just as much work, so well done to those people)
So my round 1 pictures:
a huge change. i was much fitter, happier and had heaps more confidence. but i still had a long way to go. i didn't put a front view up as i was to ashamed. but after all the positive response i got (and how many people asked me to show the front i decided to include them in round 2...............
These are my results from round 2. they are not as hugely different but i i know there is a big difference on the tape measure.
Now to give a better idea of the overall change i have will put the from start to finish pics
I am still not finished my journey. i still have about 20 lbs to lose. my next program i think will be Les mills combat. i would go for a 3rd round, but i think my body needs a rest form such high intensity so maybe in the winter i may go back.
I cannot wait for focus t25 to come out here in the UK. but i have a feeling it will be a few months yet.
So that is my journey so far. Wish me luck i have my first ever 10k race tomorrow (running for Alzheimer) this is something i never thought i would have the endurance for, but thanks to insanity i am totality game!

Liz,
first of all, as one who has done insanity...I know how tough those workouts are. The warmup at the beginning is no joke...forget about the main workout. You have done so, so well...wow. The transformation is striking: inches, muscle definition...wowser. You went and got it. We are proud of you...truly inspirational0 -
