none of them...the industry at large is a plague and really has no interest in getting you to a place of health and wellness and inevitably losing you as a customer...that's why the fads change so often.0

Since for me health and fitness starts in the mind:
Yoga and the Quest for the True Self
You Can Heal Your Life, the movie, expanded version
The Brain That Changes Itself: Stories of Personal Triumph from the Frontiers of Brain Science0 -
Just read the reviews of The Brain That Changes Itself. There were tons and tons of five star reviews. At first I wondered what it had to do about fitness and weightloss but I see in the opening line of your post why you included it. Thank you.0

The only must-read I would recommend is pretty much anything by James Fell.

I like the Oxford English Dictionary. I lift it repeatedly to build up my biceps.0

If you're interested in weight training, I really liked Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe. It's a dry read, but he explains the lifts in great detail, which is great for making sure you have excellent form.
More on the mental health side, Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff is the best self-help book I've ever read. And I have read MANY.0 -
Any books on mindfulness. Geneen Roth for ex.0

The only thing worth reading is the instruction manual on the food scales you buy!0

French Women Don't Get Fat provides a very balanced approach to weight loss and also has a few recipes.0

New rules of lifting for women (and probably the original one designed more for men) i found to be a really good educational resource, even if I dont agree with *Everything* in the book. I have incorporated a lot of the information into how I do things. There is a diet and workout portion which I will begin to incorporate more as I get closer to my goal weight and recomp.0

The Rosedale Diet, Keto Clairity, Why we get Fat. All excellent.0
