Question about weight goal for active person

Happy Friday! Okay so I've reached a milestone today and broke the 215lb mark for myself. Now that I'm done celebrating I want to figure out what my next goal should be and I'm overthinking or not informed enough to set this up. Some from peer pressure, "You'll be too skinny under 200!" or some other type comment and some just from my own body dysmorphia.

44 yo, male, 6'1" (1.85m), 214lbs (97.07kg), somewhat athletic with 5-7 hours weight, cardio training per week. I'll post before/after pics at 199lb mark sometime in November/December hopefully, my profile has some of my heavier and more recent stuff.

Okay so what is your advice on my final goal assuming that I'm going to continue lifting/gaining/cutting? Should I start going for a body fat % over weight at that point? I'm not certain what BF% a 44 YO male can even achieve even with a strict diet. I just want to be the most fit I've ever been because if I feel this good at 214lb's then I'm going to feel as good or better the closer I get to a lean muscular build.

Thanks in advance to everyone with advice.

You sound very similar to my husband (but he is way older at 59). He feels best at 195 or so even though I think that he looks skinny at that size. According to the bmi charts that is still overweight...but he wears a size 34 pant and a M or L shirt...looks good to me!

I think you are overthinking it...set a goal that will motivate you. whether it is to get under 200 lbs, or get your BF to a certain %. Whatever it is that will motivate you!

Congrats on your milestone! I reached one today as well....got under 170 for the first time ever and moved from obese to overweight on the bmi calculator!

Personally, I'd focus on body composition more than weight at this point. Even then, not a particular BF%, except as maybe some vague thing to keep in mind, but how you look and feel.

Aesthetics and athletic performance over scale weight.

I think a lot of that makes sense at this point over anything else. Thanks for the suggestions.
