1840 is not too many calories, especially if your young and lightly active. However if you feel like you want to lose some excess weight you can try cutting down to 1500 and do some weight training exercises combined with cardio for an hour about 4 times a week. I heard that is the best way to lose fat and gain muscle. Never restrict your calories too low it only ends up in losing water and muscle mass. Instead eat the right amount of calories and Stay ACTIVE! Remember to also choose healthy foods as certain foods will metabolize differently and help you lose weight faster. For example an avocado is high in fat and calories but it contains healthy fat and fiber and actually regulates your hunger hormone to help you feel full, and the best part is that the fats are healthy and actually prevents you from absorbing fat! Eat healthy and stay fit! :)

Without knowing your stats (age, height, activity, current weight, etc) there's really nothing for us to base a guess on. Personally it doesn't sound too high to me, but I get 1934 daily and am losing just fine. But I'm fairly tall for a woman and have a lot to lose still.

We need a lot more information.

Your age, height (assuming you're female, right?)

Your current weight and your Goal weight.

What do you do on a daily basis? (What kind of work, or school, or stay at home?)

How much regular exercise are you getting?

Open up your Food Diary for us to take a look at.

If you don't want to do al that, go here instead:
