Approximately 15 weeks to new year . Is it possible to lose 20 lbs to fit into a LBD ?
Walking and eating soup and salads wil it do the trick

Put your stats into MFP, set it to 1.5lb a week loss amd eat that many calories. You can eat more than just salad and soup. Dont restrict yourself.

that would be a pretty miserable (and protein deficient) 15 weeks!

Of course it is doable ... and it is doable with a lot more variety than soup and salad. Soup and salad are great ... but not every day.

Just enter your info into MFP, select sedentary as your activity level, and your goal as 1.5 lb/week. MFP will give you a maximum calorie amount. Eat that or just slightly less. And eat a variety of food! :)

Darn that New Year that never comes at the same time every year! It's so surprising to see it on the calendar!

Don't put unnecessary pressure on yourself to reach a random 'end date'. This isn't realistic.

Of course, that's not to say you can't ACHIEVE said deadline - but who wants that date looming over them every time they step on the scales? This process can be daunting enough as it is without you setting yourself strict conditions. Just eat at your deficit and go with the flow - you'r body will likely do all sorts of crazy things before new year - gaining, losing, bloating, sickness, exercise, water, events, LIFE. Just go with it and enjoy :) You'll get there and that's whats important.
