I have like the most non proportioned body ever and I'd feel way more confident if I could lose my muffin top. It's mainly on the sides. I've lost a lot of my stomach weight but the sides won't seem to go away. Advice ??

Yeah, I've lost to where I only have about 10 pounds to go and my tummy is still hanging on like a cheap suit. It'll come off eventually. Unfortunately, we can't decide where and when but it will with patience. Mine has definitely gotten smaller, but it's really the last place on me that I need to lose. Driving me nuts.

Well.....you might not want to hear this, but muffin tops generally result from wearing pants to tight. You'll need to buy new pants.

If it doesn't show when you wear your pants, then you need to be patient and continue the super loss weight program. :)

9lbs down (I'm very little, 5ft so weight off and weight on shows quickly). My legs are more shapely, my arms not quite so fat and my back is more defined but my muffin top has hardly reduced at all.....it will by the time I've lost another 35lbs though.....so just stick with it I guess.

Boy, Dyslexia before I had a chance to correct it. :) Corrections to my own post above. :o:)

Lose overall body fat with calorie deficit. One of the last places to go.

    Hang in there!

I hold most of my fat in my tummy. It's taken 4 months and the 'overhang' has definitely reduced. I'd definitely suggest taking monthly progress photographs - you'll see the difference. Stick with your plan and you'll be seeing results - stay strong!

What is your stomach shaped like when you don't have pants on? I'm "B" shaped, so I have muffin top no matter what, whether the pants are too big or just right. Hopefully my contours will smooth out over time.

I used to have an hourglass figure and carry my weight on my hips and boobs, but post two pregnancies it's now largely on my tummy. My original goal was 65kg: prepregnancy weight. I got there and my hips had shrunk but my waist and belly were still too big for my liking. I've lost another 5kg and still have more belly fat than I'd like. I plan to drop 2-3kg more, and really hope it comes off there! I'm currently 3 sizes smaller round my hips than my waist and it's really annoying finding clothes...

I carry most of my excess weight on my waist. Like in a ring around my waist and my belly button. Even when naked I have a bit of a muffin top. It is annoying as heck and makes buying pants difficult. If I find ones that fit my waist well, they are way too big in my hips and look frumpy. I have about 10 lbs left to lose, and I am hoping that will take care of it. I need to go down 3" in my waist though to be proportioned well to my hips!

"clensing" is good for getting a flatter tummy, its less fat loss more a way of getting any bloating off you and cleaning the digestive system a little but tends to be a great starting point and a confidence boost. try having no caffeine, no processed sugar (including in food so no bread with added sugar etc) only sweet potatoes and basically eat nothing out of a packet or bottle! try for a week, see how you do x

I feel your pain. I'm basically an hourglass but with a very unglamorous tyre shaped ring of fat below my waist. I can wear trousers that fit perfectly everywhere else but my tyre still squidges over. I've lost 10 pounds so far and it has shrunk but ive still got quite a way to go. Its just genetic bad luck I guess, but I really envy women who carry their fat in less awkward places!

No. Stop preaching your psuedo-science crap here.

There is no need to 'cleanse' your body or detoxify. If you had toxins in your body which were harmful, you probably wouldn't be browsing MFP but instead in a hospital; right? Your kidneys and liver do all of that for you. The whole point of the digestive system is to absorb nutrients from foods, as well as digest them, and then get rid of the by-product (aka fecal matter).

I can get salad from a packet.. I can also get water from a bottle - are those off limits?
