Illness and weight yoyo?

Gonna try to summarize as much as possible. A little over a month ago, I hit a weight plateau. I kept to a certain range of calories, but it made no difference. Then I tore a ligament in my ankle and could no longer exercise. I kept to my calorie count, but gave up any expectation of loss. Not long after hurting my ankle, I developed a painful lump under the skin on the side of my face. When another formed on my neck a couple weeks later, I went to the doctor. They weighed me at the office and I weighed the same as the past month. The doctor assumed I had a lymph node infection and put me on antibiotics. They took blood to confirm. The next day was my weekly weigh in day. I'd lost 6 pounds in one day! The week following I spent half my time too hungry for words. I tried to moderate with limited success. The morning before weigh in day my doctor called and said there was no sign of infection in my blood work. I stopped taking the antibiotics. That night I developed sniffles. I was unsurprised on weigh in day that I had gained 3 pounds during the week, but gathered my will to get back to walking and strict counting. That day I started coughing and sneezing. This morning, after one day without antibiotics but with strict diet and exercise, I woke up feeling incredibly sick. I broke my rules and weighed to make sure j had made an impact with my good behavior. Instead I had gained another 3 pounds! In a day! Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on?
PS, lumps are still there and still painful.

Are you sure your scale is accurate? With all going on, could you try a different doctor?

If I read this correctly, you lost 6 lbs then gained it back. In the meantime you've been ill, on meds, and less active due to injury. The changes you've seen are prob water weight and could be related to everything else going on. If you've been less active then it's great you haven't gained. With all you've had going on the main thing is to focus on getting well & healthy including getting a diagnosis re the lumps.

I saw a hematologist/oncologist yesterday. Was trying to keep post brief, but on top of lymph node problem, I've been having difficulty with a blood clot disorder I was diagnosed with 5 years ago. I'm on a high dosage of blood thinners, but my blood is staying thick. I asked him about the lumps because I figured if anyone would know, he would. He said that them being painful is a sign that they are just inflamed, and not containing something. He blamed it on a virus. Though virus's aren't usually affected by antibiotics and whatever this is definitely got worse after I stopped taking them. What would cause me to gain 3 pounds of water in a day?

Meds, sodium, hormones, etc. It could be anything. I gain that much between 8am and noon everyday. It's just not a big deal in the overall picture. It will be gone in a day or two.
