I just joined because I'm fed up with my body. I've always been fat (and short, I'm only 5'3") and I'm so ashamed of myself. I am so embarrassed to say that I currently weigh 225 pounds, more than I ever have. I have PCOS and it makes it really hard to lose weight. Not to mention I have a metabolism that even the sight or smell of food will make me instantly gain 10 pounds. I'm struggling with losing weight, motivation as most of my friends are thin, and emotional support. If any of you are dealing with similar issues, please message me? I'd love to know others who have been in a similar boat and have succeeded or those who feel stuck like me.

Okay... So the PCOS thing is not insurmountable. It just means that others' 1000 calorie deficit is only a 900 calorie deficit for you. The good news is you are not stuck. As your username says, you are the captain--You do have control!0

Start reading the boards. There are many posts about PCOS sprinkled around. You can lose weight. You need to eat less calories and this is a great place for doing That Just get started- today. Lots of support on here.0

I'm not sure about the shame part, since I am good with myself even though I'm fat. I found "The Seven Keys to Weight Loss Freedom" good for the psychological part of weight loss.
I'd guess what given that you'll have a hard time losing, maybe an 1,100 calorie target per day would be good. Try that for a few weeks and see how it's going! Best not to give yourself any exceptions for 2 weeks if you want to be sure to get off to a solid start. I like trend graphs to monitor.

I also was diagnosed with PSOC and have gone on to have four beautiful kiddos and a total weight loss of 67 pounds. I'm currently working on losing another 30 pounds. Counting calories and exercise has been the only thing that's really worked for me. You CAN do this!0
