So, my husband and I were having a discussion about salt and my lack of salting my food.
He puts a crazy amount of it on everything. I will normally salt food when I am cooking it, like chicken and beef, etc with other spices, but otherwise, I don't use it and sparingly do so when I do. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that most food has plenty in it and it's really not necessary to use more? I don't really eat a lot of processed foods.

Personal preference. But. ..I'll bet if someone restricted sodium for a month they wouldn't go back to using as much as previously.

Sounds like my house. It's not that I don't like salt or think it's bad, i just generally don't use it much except when cooking, but my husband, well, he salts his dang pizza.

nwood do you track your sodium intake in your diary? It will give you an idea how high or low your levels are.

I've cut back a lot in adding salt to my food, but still often come over mfp's goals.

The only thing I put extra salt on is my french fries...and then I go to town! LOL

That's really what I was thinking. He was saying that I was going to get sick because we need iodized salt in our diet. Which I know that, but I feel like I get enough from everything I eat and don't need to go salting it more. I feel more that it's a personal preference thing as well.

I was just looking at that. Most of the time I am under and occasionally I am rig h t at or rarely above. It looks fine to me? So I think I am fine. Lol.
