You mean only eat protein bars...no other food, all day? I don't know why you would do that. Shouldn't one or two a day be adequate?

If you're in a rush a protein bar for breakfast or lunch wouldn't be too bad but I wouldn't be relying on them to account for most of your calories every day.

I totally understand. I can be a picky eater as well.

I had made a thread with some higher protein foods.

They aren't necessarily low in fat or low in carb as well but they may get you headed in the right direction protein wise.

I keep protein bars around for days when my planned breakfast doesn't work out or when I'll be out running errands and might need a snack. Over summer (when we were busier at work), I would typically have a protein bar for my afternoon snack since I didn't have time to sit down and have my yogurt or cheese and crackers.

They can be a bit pricey in the long run, though, so I second @Azexas's recommendation to check out that thread with higher protein stuff. It's less expensive to get protein from "real" food than from supplements like protein bars.

As long as your hitting your goals for the day, you could certainly have 3 bars per day if you like them.( as long as your eating other foods too besides just bars all day ) but yes, there is times when I have several bars per day along side of a well balanced diet. Like some days I'm super busy and don't have time to prepare very much so I'll throw a few bars in my bag to have along with some other well balanced foods

Imo I would stick to a minimum of one protein bar a day and get protein from nuts etc if you want a snack. I would read the back lable and avoid the ones loaded with sugar. You could get more protein from a pint of milk than half these protein bars they sell to day.

If it's what you want to do, it's okay with me!

It's not very healthy, though. Those things are just candy bars with protein powder in them. You'd be much better off if you ate healthy foods.

If I'm in a rush, I'll eat a clif bar for breakfast. I wouldn't do it everyday, but once in a while is fine.

I doubt anyone can provide any information showing that eating a fiber or protein bar with each meal is unhealthy. If that's how you want to get your fiber and protein, then eat the bars.

I picked a Fiber 1 bar at random and it does indeed seem to be a candy bar with protein.

I do keep a box of granola bars around for unusual situations but it takes me a few months to eat all six.

Dr. Oz is a quack. Why does anyone take him seriously?
