Holy lunges in p90x3 tonight!!! I love when you go to shower afterwards and lack the arm strength to put shampoo on your head...and then drying off with a towel is just out of the question. ..so you just kinda stand and stare at the mirror. ..

Try adding a sports bra to that battle. Removing it can be no joke!

And zipping dresses the following day can be a sad, multi stage affair complete with flailing and contortions.

Oh man haha I can't imagine...similar to the battle of trying to tie your tie...giving up..flopping it around your neck then getting to work and kindly asking your assistant to save you :)

I've woken up my DH for zipper help in the morning. He's gotten very proficient at doing zippers with his eyes still shut.

You're running 3 minute miles but have trouble with a workout video?

Come on...you know that 3 minute mile maaaaaay have been a slight embellishment...I think I would feel confident saying it's more of a 48 minute mile and that's with no breaks sooo not too shabby.

Then why did you say you were running 3-4 minute miles?

    Okay then.

I'm just going to assume your inability to tie your tie is just as much *kitten* as your ability to run a 3 minute mile then and ignore anything you post ever again.

Thanks for the heads up and best of luck with all your health and fitness goals (real or imagined).

Been awhile since doing p90x, but remember this pain well. Having to bend my head down to my hands to shampoo since my arms wouldn't raise any higher. I also had a stick shift car at the time...that was fun. A lot of times I'd start in second gear just to take that one movement out of the equation LOL.

    You what mate?

That sounds like an indicator of a poor exercise set up and management of intensity more than anything else.

A severely restricted range of motion mimicking an acute injury or even worse rhabdomyolysis isn't really something to aim for.

I think it was a case of not doing the proper warm up! Nothing a little icy hot rubbed in didn't help alleviate...and it makes you smell great too!

    Fair play.

Just be careful because what you are describing may be far more detrimental to your efforts than productive.

Work hard and challenge yourself, no doubt. Over do it and injury yourself? No one wants that.

For me, it was more just the shock of going from hardly any exercise to everyday with p90x. After a couple weeks it got much better.

I'm still trying to figure out how lunges inhibit your arm movement the next day.

Ooooh cause you keep your arms raised the entire time or at eye level and usually hold a small weight...

Sure, DOMS isn't uncommon even if you are managing intensity well.

I had a problem with the message I perceived was coming from post as it seemed to suggest that soreness was a reliable indicator of the effectiveness of a workout and the sorer you are the better (which obviously isn't true and how many beginners end up hurting themselves.)
