gosh are we n9t her to support one another? I just walked home from work. So yea it will make a difference but you must be eating properly. Be safe and wear appropriate things if you wLk at night dusk etc wear a reflective vest etc. And mace if you are concerned about crime.
Not mention all I have on me is a broken backpack with my work uniform, and a 20$ card that let's me get into the gym with a value of 0$ to anyone but me since if I lost it the card it wouldn't work once I called the gym and told them it was missing. Oh and my 11$ lunch bag. Guess if I lost the lunch bag I could just pack it in a plastic bag until I've saved up enough to buy a new one.

Walking is my primary exercise. Starting in April I began walking only 1/8 mi , 3 times a week. I'm up to an average of 4 miles a day, 7 days a week thanks to my personal trainer (I mean my Labrador retriever). I've lost 40 lbs in that time span on the exact same diet that netted a 10 lb weight loss in the previous 6 months. Walking works.0

This is a very good thing to do for your health. But understand this. YOu do not need to exercise for weightloss. Weightloss should be all about your diet.0

Yes of course it will help-- and you may feel better and have more energy because of the exercise.
Plus you save gas money and wear and tear on your car.0 -

In that case, to go along with what angelexperiment said, unless your work uniform is neon snot green or similar, get some brightly colored shirts to put on over it (the ones cyclists wear that hurt your eyes), especially if you are walking at dawn or dusk. I don't know, maybe even some sort of wearable safety light wouldn't be a bad idea.0 -
Yes, but not the way you think. I live even closer to work than you do - a 2km round trip! - and after I started walking to work every day I started to feel a lot better overall and a lot more motivated, especially now that spring has come and the weather is (sort of) warmer.
It's also great for stamina if you do other hobbies/sports that require such things. A couple of years ago, even when I was lighter than I am now, I couldn't have dreamed of going into a skating competition for a 1:40 program with only two full run-throughs behind me. Two weeks ago I not only did it, I had breath to spare at the end.
A 2km round trip. 6/10ths of a mile each way? How else would you get to work? My parking garage is a half mile from where I work.0 -
I walk everywhere, even to Walmart and the grocery store. It adds up! I love seeing the total calorie burn on my Fitbit at the end of the day.0

You don't need to, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be part of the plan or doesn't matter for weight loss. I know I exercise a certain amount per week, so I can eat more than what would be maintenance if I were sedentary and still lose weight.0 -

My work has free parking on the grounds. I went through a real lazy spell where I was taking the car every day. Then I stuffed my battery because of all the short trips, and also got motivated. I still take the car when it rains, though.0
