So I am a medical assistant for a doctor. We are busy but during the day 8am-7pm Approximately I only get max 3 thousand steps in a day. Does anyone else work at an office? how do you add in steps through out the day? (Walking on lunch is not an option). I do try to do some steps in place between rooming patients but does not seem to help increase my step count.

There's a kindle book I read called the sixty second system. The idea is to do a really short bursts of exercise throughout the day. Like....jumping jacks for 60secs. Or push-ups against a wall for 60secs. Squats/lunges for 60secs. You get the idea.

That's a really long work day! I feel for you because I'm a dental hygienist and I understand being trapped in the office all day. My hours aren't that crazy though....

Maybe that book (and an extra minute in the bathroom at work! LOL!) could make you feel better.

If you can't walk during lunch, why can't you walk after work? Even 30 minutes is good.

I have a similar circumstance in working 12+ hour days...make 30-60 minutes of cardio a morning routine & just do full workouts on off-days (weights & cardiovascular). It's a tough lifestyle, but you've got to sacrifice some time for personal health even if it's abbreviated

    No sacrificing sleep though!
