How much protein to help control low blood sugar?

I recently found out I have low blood sugar. My doctor recommended a low carb/high protein diet to help me manage it. I'm just not sure how high protein and how low carb I should be aiming for. Any suggestions?

I did call my doctor's office and left a message with the nurse. Never got a call back.

I have problems with my sugar as well, but I don't do low carb. I do 30% protein, which averages about 120-130 grams for me. One thing I have learned (and researched) is that protein also will affect your insulin levels, almost the same as carbs do. What has worked for me is to make sure you eat enough fat to help counteract that. Fat will NOT make you fat but it will help your blood sugar levels. Hope this helps!

Thanks, smwooley. I need to find ways to increase my protein. I'm not a vegetarian but am not naturally drawn to meat often. Also don't like eggs. I think I'm going to search out some low sugar/low carb protein powders.
