Exercising....

I have a difficult time getting motivated to exercise.

    find something you enjoy doing that is active and go do it....

    i like riding my bike...so that's my main form of exercise...i also do a bit of hiking and swimming.

    expand your views on what is exercise and find something you enjoy doing.

    beyond that, you're never going to be motivated all of the time...it's a fleeting emotion. you don't need motivation, you need discipline...it's discipline that wins over when you're not motivated. as much as I love to ride, there's days when I'm not into it...it's these times when discipline takes over and I just go do it because it's Thursday...and I ride on Thursday.

    Exercising can be boring but being active isn't. Find an activity that you might find enjoyable but not view as traditional exercise eg dancing, sightseeing, swimming, canoeing, hiking etc. For instance, I can easily get on my bike and go for a 2 hr ride to the park and back, but would need massive willpower to go to the gym and get on a spin bike. Start small, say 20-30 min. When I'm not highly motivated, I start by putting on my workout gear. I rarely take it off without actually getting a workout.
