I mix casein powder with coffee. Just stir or use a mini whisk. I like it.

ETA: I tried whey and it was not good.

I am an active adult and I am educated about protein, but I prefer mine mixed with stuff because they taste pretty blah otherwise. :) I guess i'm one of the .1 percent, then.

You might just be buying crap protein powder brands. All the ones that I've bought have tasted great...even in plain water and I'm a chef with a decent palate.

Check out PES Select or XF Ultra Peptide 2.0

i prefer to mix mine with green tea and strawberries. It's just my taste. Either that or coffee and chocolate.

I don't think our blenders can handle anything hot. They're plastic.

I have a vitamix, it can actually heat stuff.

I actually add plain gelatin to my coffee. It takes a bit to dissolve, but you can't tell it's there.

You want a hot, sweet beverage? I can't help with that, but for something light and savoury, would go for miso soup with more tofu than usual, or a bit of egg, if you eat eggs. For something heavier, would go for chili.

What about a protein bar with a regular coffee?

The "upscale" blenders can do that -- pay more and you get more
    Also consider an Immersion Blender.

Wow! Thank you guys so much. I add ice for volume so I will try adding either plain gelatin or warm almond milk. All the feedback is appreciated.
