21 day fix calorie level?

I have just gotten it in the mail. yes I do realize it is not for everyone and I do not want judgment here as I eat very clean but just eat far too much and need help learning portion sizes so that is why I am willing to pay for this program. My question is for anyone who is currently doing this.....the calorie level is so high. I am obese and over 200 lbs for a woman and need to lose 100 lbs. It is telling me I need to eat 2500 to lose weigh on this program and that makes no sense at all. Anyone else have this issue? I would like to stick with the MFP level...anyone do that with success?

I haven't done this program, but from what I know, they give you a calorie level assuming that you are going to be doing a certain amount of activity. With that said, 2500 calories is too high for weight loss even if you weigh more than 200 pounds. Don't they have certain levels of intake to make the program work for a wider customer base? If that's the case, pick the variation that is the closest to what MFP wants you to eat.0 -
yes I researched the program a lot before I bought it and think it is a very good way to learn portion control however the calorie level is bizarre.0

bump on this topic, the weight loss coaches at Beach Body say this higher calorie level works well but I just do not see how. anyway go on the 21 day fix and a little shocked a the calorie level?0

How tall are you and what do you weigh? How much exercise do you get in?
2500 is very much for a cut. Very likely way too much for you.
That beach body coach system is a MLM program. Any TDEE calculator can tell you better than them how much you need to eat.0 -

I wouldn't personally take advice about my calorie goals from a BB coach, because anyone telling me that I need to eat the same caloric content as everyone else doing the program regardless of weight is silly. What number does MFP give you? Go with that. It takes into account age, gender, current weight and activity level.0 -

Ah, okay. It sounded like it hadn't accounted for weight either. Still.... OP, Google Scooby calculator as well and see what that says.
Between the two, you'll get a good idea of whether or not 2500 is reasonable for you.0 -

OP, 2500 could be appropriate depending on your own stats including activity level, but it does sound pretty high for the average MFP user. I agree with those suggesting either using the MFP suggestion, or input your stats into the Scooby calculator.0 -
Dumb question but are you 100% sure that you did the calculation correctly? I was told it's your weight x 11 and you deduct 300 from that.. so for 200 pounds it would be 1900 calories, which sounds about right actually.0

I was browsing Amazon reviews on it and one trick is to not chop anything up fine even though it showed, in this review example, the spokesperson chopping berries up before putting them in a container. This reviewer or perhaps a different one was also complaining about the calories being too high and did give it a good go at the recommended level before casting judgement.
Oh well, they're over-priced BPA and DEHP free, microwaveable storage containers, if nothing else, you still can use them something. But maybe you can make it work by not mooshing stuff in or dicing and chopping.0 -

Hey there! I wanted to reach out and try and debunk your not so positive remark about 21DF. I'm trying to put this a very kind way and not to be antagonistic at all. But I had to say just because a great product and program in particular, 21 Day Fix, is part of Team Beachbody, yes a network marketing company doesn't mean it doesn't work. It actually does work. The program is actually fantastic and everyone I work with loves it. It may not be for everyone. But that's why there's something for everyone. But don't bash it because it's part of Team Beachbody. There are some incredible results and life changing transformations done the safe and healthy way and because of Coaches that get connected with customers and actually help them reach their goals.

Too much Beachbody spam here over the years. If you want to help, quit with the low info party line stuff and help OP with the possible surplus calorie issues and ways to ensure too many calories don't end up in those pricy containers.0

No actually I was doing research on IIFYM and saw a 21 Day Fix forum and thought hey I know a TON about it and can help the original poster because I've helped lots of ppl with. As for the containers. I think they are great and you can get some similar too at target and the like for the same price.
I had no idea it's been kinda BB crazy over here? All I can say I'm super sorry. Just trying to be helpful about something I know a lot about. Appreciate the feedback @Azuriaz.0 -

If you're getting 2500, you must weigh 260 pounds; I did the calculations to determine which weight would get a 2500 calorie allowance. I see the food plan also states if your number is higher than 2300, round it down to 2300, which you also did not do.0
