Lyme Disease. What to eat?

Hi my name is Janet. I started my weight lost journey on March 2, 2015. I'm 2lbs away from having lost 50lbs. I've been sick all summer just got diagnosed with Lyme disease. I'm having a hard time finding something to eat that does not make me sick either from one end or the other, sorry about that. My goal is to loose 52 more lbs while trying to eat healthy and not become sick. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry you're going through such a rough time. There was a Lyme Disease group formed here, but it never took off. I'd suggest forums especially for Lyme sufferers if no one here has any info.0

First off, I've never had lyme disease nor have I done ketosis, but I listen to podcasts. (So not qualified but probably no less qualified to give advice than anyone else on this forum i.e see a nutritionist)
However,
Tim Ferriss did nutritional ketosis to fight off some symptoms of his lyme disease. I don't know why or if it worked for him. I, however, find him to be a pretty well-learned man and trust he did the research as to why it would theoretically work. I personally don't have the thorough interest to research it to know exactly why/how. Maybe google the two together and see if something plausible pops up. Good luck!0 -

i hope you take a multi-vitamin and consider extra vitamin C
Uhm, he is a man who claims Lyme disease is autoimmune and who was also told by his dr to seek psychiatric help. I would proceed with caution.0 -
It's an inflammatory disease which can lead to autoimmune diseases. It's why those with celiac disease have several reactions when they eat wheat.0

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. My opinion is that with something so serious, do not take suggestions from strangers on the Internet. There are a lot of know it all's on here with no credentials. However, I understand if you disagree. Perhaps seeks some really good doctors and dietitians in your area to assist. I hope you find what you are looking for.0

Hi Janet,
A family member of mind has had severe very chronic lymes for over ten years and we have helped care for him. I am very understanding and sympathetic and know how hard it is to find anything that doesn't cause pain. I myself think I have the beginning stages of lymes as does my dr/nutritionist and hopefully we've caught it soon enough but it is causing me very bad pain to eat absolutely everything. but I can't just starve. anyways my uncle has to eat protein and starches never together EVER. this has helped him immensely. I would highly recommend trying this. also he eats mostly alkaline foods no acidic foods at all. if you want to talk more in very willing. I have a huge list of herbs that have helped him and me as we try to do things naturally.0 -
I too am lyme positive. Too things to do. Avoid alcohol, caffiene, refined sugar, acidic foods and gluten in that order. Do take multi vitamins and excercise as often as possible and as light or as intense as you can and sleep a good night's sleep. I too have days where my elbows, back, knees and ankles can be hindered with crippling pain but treat with Aleve in moderation as it is tough on the liver and kidneys that are already taxed by lyme. Good luck and feel free to add me.0
