MFP has set a daily goal of 1200 calories for me and I add another 300 for exercise. My sugar limit is set to 35grams per day. Is it OK that I have a desert/cookie/chocolate etc every day but does not go beyond the sugar limit for the day? I have a major sweet tooth so I am finding it really hard to cut my desert off. I am 5 '2 and weigh 162lbs.

Don't worry about going over your sugar goal unless you have a reason to, like diabetes etc. Eat your sweet stuff as long as it is within your calorie goal.

Just as a tip for you, today I'm having sugar free raspberry jelly with a tonne of blueberries in for around 40 calories, just an idea for you if you fancy something sweet and are low on calories for the day :)

OP I'm the same height as you, started about 10 lbs lower. I was originally set at 1200 net and also ate back my exercise cals but figured out that I could lose about 1 lb/week netting 1400-1500 cals, and then about 0.5 lb/week netting 1650.

I lost 30 lbs and am currently maintaining. I eat something sweet and have wine pretty much every day.

    Good luck.

Your screen name makes me hungry. Lol. Yea my daily cals is around 1400-1500. I figured 1200 is too low perhaps? I want to do 1200 only when I hit a plateau.

Walking mostly, I have bad knees so I'm not much of a runner. When I started I was trying to walk 30 min a day 3 times a week. I got a Fitbit about 6 months into this and it really helped me know how many calories I was burning, that's when I raised my goal up. Now I average about 14,000 steps/day and I've incorporated some circuit training with Dumbbells 2-3 times a week.

That's awesome. I do JM workouts 5 days a week and also track my calories/steps if I go out grocery shopping etc. I don't use a car. I walk everywhere.
