Check out this website http://www.muscleforlife.com/, it will help you determine what is a good shake vs a shake with fillers.0

Tera's Whey (you can find on Amazon) is an excellent choice. It's grass fed, all organic, non GMO, rBGH free pure whey protein. I get the bourbon vanilla, tastes great!0

They're good for you if you're having trouble otherwise getting enough protein. They're probably not so good for you if they put you over your calorie limit.
If your protein powder or protein shake is full of bad stuff, you're buying the wrong one.0 -
get the trusted well known brands, they're perfectly safe. and essential if your looking to cut weight and tone/transform your body.
This. Do your research. Especially on the heavy metals contamination. Though most of what I've found on that isn't recent. I'd like to see 2015 testing done by independent labs. Not sure if there is a list out. Maybe there is and I missed it?0 -

Protein shakes are only needed if you have trouble meeting your protein goals.0 -
Yes, protein shakes are fine and great for helping you get adequate protein. Personally, i went from 2/day to 4/week (only post workout), as i found out i'm getting plenty without them and would rather eat my cals than drink them.0

Try Dale's Raw Protein Shakes. They are vegan, gluten free, dairy free, non-gmo. I like the chocolate- it has pea protein, rice protein and hemp protein. They also are very low in carbs and sugar.0

Look for stuff without artificial sweeteners or colors. There aren't many.0

Here is a ranking site I found helpful:

I echo the sentiment that protein shakes aren't necessary unless you have trouble meeting your protein goals.0 -
Protein shakes are supplementary diets.
If your normal diet meets your daily protein goals (dairy products, meat, fish, lentils etc.), you may not need them at all.
A good whey protein powder has more than 27g of protein in one scoop and negligible amounts (< 1g) of fat and sugar.

It is important to know about sources of protein powder.

What page? They are pushing Legion Whey all over the site - what makes you think they are unbiased?

The majority of it is marketing hype. Most people get all the protein they need in their diets for the amount of exercise and goals they have. Supplements are better served to fitness pros and athletes with exceptional needs.
