I just bought a low calorie cook book, and all the recipes that require eggs call for "fat free liquid egg substitute". I've never tried egg beaters or anything and I was wondering if the taste/texture is similar to regular eggs when cooked? Thanks.

As far as texture, in my opinion, they're more watery. I love the egg beaters egg whites. I use them for omelets. The regular had a strange taste to me. That's just me though. I buy the egg white version specifically for omelets.0

I've used egg beaters in the one thing I cook (a cottage cheese casserole thingy) and it seems ok. I would just never eat them on their own after going back to real eggs with real yolks.0
