Body pump

I am looking to change up my routine a bit and wanted to try out the Les mills body pump class at my gym. Anyone have experience with it?

yep its fab! I just stuck to light weights for the first session and then upped them so I knew what I was capable of lifting, the second session really tired me out! I think its good as you will do weights in combination with squats/lunges all in time to music and the instructor will go round correcting form.

  • I went for the first time last week, as the gym just added a new session and it was finally at a time where I could make it and had the motivation to do so (I can't do 6 a.m. workouts or 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning LOL). There were only six people in the class plus the instructor, and I was able to ask the teacher if she could help me set up where I could see her. I did light weights, so I only burned 275 calories, but I want to give it another try with heavier weights. It definitely helped having a smaller class to learn and get a sense of the instructor's style. I generally don't like larger workout classes, and BodyPump is so popular that I would've felt lost if I had gone to an evening class! Hopefully, the class you go to isn't jam packed...you'll benefit more, IMO.
