Anyone with any suggestions as to how to lose love handles and lower back fat? I do both cardio and weight training and nothing seems to work, always have quite a clean diet, any tips appreciated

You cannot spot reduce. The only way to lose them is to lower overall body fat percentage. If you're not losing fat you are eating too many calories.

Focus on eating less, not on eating clean.

What are your height and weight?

As you lose, it will come from all over. Eating at a deficit is whats important here.

Does this mean that where your body likes to store fat first means you'll lose it there last? Unfortunately for me almost all of my extra weight goes to my stomach. If you saw just a picture of my arms, legs or face you'd think I wasn't overweight at all... then giant beer belly.

Yeah. It sucks for you, but while being fat is not genetic despite what many people like to claim, where fat deposits is genetic. That's why some end up with thin faces despite being morbidly obese, or some people have huge lower bodies while their torso looks almost normal.

    Pretty much, yes.

Yup. For many guys, including myself, I can be trim and lean almost everywhere and i still have a hard time taming the love handles and belly pouch.

As others have said no spot reduction. I've a huge guy but slim legs with great muscle tone. I look like a muscular Mrs. Potato-Head.

I'm thinking that's the last fat to go. Keep focusing on diet.

    Give it time.. :)

I'm around 8-10lbs from my goal weight and I still have 'back fat' and 'love handles'. 8-10lbs can make quite a difference. I'm hanging in there! Be patient.

IF ONLY we could spot reduce... ;)
