Question about counting calories

When using Myfitnesspal to count calories, and wearing a Pedometer throughout the day, do people add how many calories they burn through their day? (at work, at home, etc) or do they just calculate the calories they burn while actually exercising using cardio?

    Personally if it's outside my normal range of activity then I log it. Even better if it gets the heart rate up.

    For example I lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle. Most of the time I'm in my room, on my bed on my laptop and not doing much else, so even going shopping for two hours is an activity that I don't normally get, and I log accordingly though I try my best to tweak it so it's not overestimating my calories burned.

    (Well I guess that's a little lie...I'm trying to work out at least a little five days a week right now. Either or!)

    At the same time though, not everyone is like this so you'll probably be getting a few different answers. In the end, just do whats best for you, what works, and stick with it. c:
