Salad Toppings? What're YOUR Favorites?

Just curious what everyone likes to mix in with their salads. I have a very high intolerance for almost any raw vegetable that isn't leafy, so I'm always looking for new ideas. I recently found these things called Crunchies, which are basically just freeze-dried fruit -- all of the taste and most of the nutrition, waaay less sugar than dried fruit, and they add that crunch that I just have to have with my salad. What's some of your favorites?

As far as non-vegetable toppings, I like:

    Sunflower seeds
    Bacon bits
    Hardboiled eggs
Homemade croutons (topped with olive oil and parmesan. Om nom nom)
    Shredded asiago cheese
    Walnuts

Not all at once, of course (too much, lol) but these have all been tasty on my salads.

Mushrooms and garbanzo beans. They fill me up. I'm thinking about hardboiling some eggs to have ready for salads. I do like them, but I never have them ready when I want a salad.

My favorites are hard boiled egg, dried cranberries, chopped ham, peas, sunflower seeds, imitation or real crab, chopped turkey or chicken, cheese, shredded carrot. Um, yeah, I do usually put all those on at once except for the crab and turkey. My salads aren't always the healthiest. LOL

There's a great restaurant my hubby and I go to often with a great salad bar. I usually top my salad with croutons, bacon bits, tortilla strips, and cheese.

    Lots of different things...
    cheese
    bacon
    dried fruit
    fresh fruit
    nuts
    crispy onions
    crispy red peppers
    crispy tortilla strips
    hard boiled egg
    sandwich meat
barbecue meat (pulled pork or chicken)
    various beans
    croutons
that shake-on crunchy salad topping stuff

...but usually only 2 or 3 at a time. Like, with a fruity vinaigrette; blue cheese, nuts, and fresh berries (or dried cherries); with salsa ranch dressing: tortilla strips, crunchy red peppers, and cheese; with honey mustard: bacon and crispy onions.

I like sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, bacon bits, bean sprouts, dried cranberries, jalapenos, olives, blue cheese, sharp cheddar, ham or chicken.

Really lots of stuff tastes great on a salad. One combination I really enjoy is thinly sliced pears with walnuts and blue cheese. Just a little of a sharper cheese goes a long way.
