Best supplements/pre-workout??

Hey everyone. I want to start taking something that will "pump" me up (aka stimulate) me to work out. Many have told me that pre-workout can do this, and some others have told me that there are stimulant supplements at like GNC or vitamin world. What do you take and why do you like it? I just really need advice from others that know a little bit about these type of products. I don't think this really matters, but as a side note, I used to take Vyvanse (which is basically a stronger Adderall) and it used to stimulate me so I can handle stimulants pretty well so I'm not worried about wiggin' out or anything like that. Thanks in advance for your input!!!!!

I know quite a bit about these products. But, before stepping into the supplement world, you should make sure your diet and routine are correct. Preworkouts aren't miracle powders, they merely assist your foundation (DIET, exercise, in that order). That being said, please don't go to GNC...you will leave feeling like you got an excellent deal only to find out the product was terrible, or that you spent twice as much as you should. Vitamin Shoppe, and many online retailers have much better prices. And, you take a Schedule II controlled substance...I would be highly concerned about mixing a preworkout with Vyvanse. I would definitely suggest consulting your health-care provider or PCP before taking anything.0

Pre workouts are great but you need to change them regularly & even then you still get used to them & stop feeling them after a while. You're also supposed to have a few weeks break from time to time as recommended for health reasons.
Make sure your diet as right as some of the above posters have pointed out & maybe only use a pre once/twice a week if you need it due to late night or you're doing a second session on the same day0 -

You're the third person to talk about this product. I'm definitely going to check it out. Thank you0 -
I just use C4 for the price, but it's not my favorite. So far Muscletech pre workout has been the best. Strong, but not too strong, great tasting.
Black coffee? Sure. That used to work. But now I'm going to the gym after an 11 hour day singing and dancing with children under 5 years old, and literally falling asleep on the hour long NYC subway ride home and back to the gym. Black coffee ain't working anymore.0 -
I use BPI's 1MR vortex. I have also used ON's Gold Pre-Workout. I liked both.
Why I use a pre-workout: I work out in the morning before work. I get up at 4:15 to do it. If I worked out in the afternoon, or even could get up at 5:30, I probably would just use coffee and not a pre-workout.
Why I chose what I did: I found the 1MR (I use fruit punch) because it didn't taste terrible and it woke me up and it dissolved pretty completely in water. The ON (again, fruit punch) doesn't taste quite as good, but its not bad. It also has creatine in it which may or may not be a selling point to you. I stuck with the 1MR because it often goes on sale for relatively cheap and since I didn't want my creatine intake tied to my pre-workout I stuck with the 1MR.
I tried a couple other pre-workouts and they tasted absolutely awful. Like drinking chemicals.
Bottom line: If I didn't work out so early, I would never use a pre-workout.
Final thought: I agree with scottver2- Not trashing GNC, but Vitamin Shoppe or Bodybuilding.com have great prices on these products and if you wait until sales happen you can BOGO or buy one and get 2 sample packs. I would actually suggest getting a few different sample sizes and trying them first because there's nothing worse than buying a couple month's supply of something only to realize you hate drinking it. lol0
