Seeking fellow moms for support. Need to lose 95.

Hello! I'm giving MFP another go. I've had some success with it in the past but never have been part of the community and had trouble staying motivated after a couple of months. I'm hoping to team up with others this time for mutual support. I'm 44, a homeschooling mom of two boys and motherhood has been the biggest challenge to my ability to lose weight. Having to focus so much attention on the needs of others makes it very difficult to shift back to doing what I need to do for myself. My days are resistant to routine but I keep trying and my boys are getting to an age where I'm getting more windows of time I can use to my advantage. Recently went through a VERY stressful period when my MIL was living with us and she was trying her hardest to break up my marriage. In the course of a few months I gained almost 20 lbs and have been avoiding the scale like the plague. But I know I always need the shock of a weigh in to get me back on track. MIL is gone and not a threat anymore. Marriage is back on track. I'm getting into the swing with homeschooling my son. I finally have the mental space and the very real NEED to focus on my health.
I'd love some friends here who are in a similar situation who can offer consistent, reliable support. I ask for moms in particular so we can share strategies for managing menus and child demands, whatever else makes our particular situation different than others trying to lose weight.

Hi, I am a 47 yr old mom of a 13 year old. I also have had a hard time with wt and parenthood. Planning anything healthy has been low on the priority list and exercise was nonexistent. I plan to change that now. I got a fitbit and started really keeping up with food choices on MFP. I would love friends to help with motivation.

Hi,
I could almost have written your post myself. I'm a similar age and home educating two boys (I also have a daughter at college and another daughter who's nearly three so she learns as she goes as well as some of what the boys learn). My MIL is also stressful but we no longer see her. One less thing to deal with
I include my boys in any exercise I do, so we go for walks as a family and we also go cycling once a week as a family. They seem to enjoy it and it's also improving their health. I'm sure that they won't be so keen when the winter sets in in a few weeks (I'm in England). It's amazing what you find to talk about on walks, depending on what you see each time. The walks are definitely doing me good, the walks we did when I first started managing my weight were hard work but they don't phase us at all now (so we go further) and my resting heart rate has dropped from 80-100bpm to 61, which I am really pleased about.
As for menus, I just eat what the rest of the family eat (unless I don't fancy it) but in smaller portions. I tend not to eat crisps/chocolate/cake but that's my choice, I'd just rather not eat them. I've been doing this for 9 weeks and I am really beginning to think about what I put on my plate now. It seems to be a natural progression with weighing and logging all that I eat/drink.
