Why did i lost weight "suddenly"?

so my story is..i did insanity,i didn t lost nothing in first month(i didn t eat super clean tho')..when i started second month i sterted taking protein powder.eat very much greens vegetables fish..healthy stuff.i was VERY stressed out because i wanted to lose weight for the summer and i only had 2 months to do it..i still didn t lost nothing..ok maybe a pound..but my body was shrinking a little, even tho i didn t see it in my chlotes.anyway..i finished insanity..in my opinion i was still fat..whatevEr..i started thinking that maybe i m not this fat..i still could be sexy and wear cute clothes..SO...i decided...i have a month left till summer(until i go to my country, friends, familly) i stopped working out daily, just 2-3days a week,i started eating ice cream, sweets(not too many but i havent eated sweets in my insanity journey)i was relaxed and i didn t give a biiiig f*** about losing weight..so..suddenly in those 2 weeks of relaxing and eating bull**** i lost 3 or 4 pounds, i lost inches of my body...so my question is....WHAT HAPPENED?what do u think?

Could be you built up muscle during the workouts that contributed to your body burning more calories in general. If I recall correctly, muscle uses more energy just to exist than an equal weight of fat would.

Or it could be water weight.

Or it could be the lack of stress.

Honestly, I don't know how much it could really factor into it. I do know that I think sleep is messing me up quite a bit, so I wouldn't be surprised if stressing over the time limit and the lack of progress might slow you down a bit. I'm sure there's someone around here who knows something about it.

yes stress will make you gain weight. The same thing happens to me. i hit my goal weight but still don't' look the way i want. So i decided to focus on losing body fat. well i am into my 3rd month of strength training and have had no real difference. The last 2.5 weeks i have had treats daily and what do you know i weighted myself this am and bam, i lost 1.2 lbs??? i never understand these things and why they happen, but they sure do.
  • I find that I gain weight when I do a lot of cardio bc I tend to eat more calories than I need, even if theyre healthy calories.

I find when I diet without cardio, I tend to lose fat easier bc I require less calories. and in fact, as days go by without exercise I eat less & less. I still eat chocolate, etc, but not a lot. Once per day after a meal

You don't have to eat super clean to lose weight. But if you do not eat enough, your body tends to hold onto calories in fear of famine (your body will release cortisol as a defense mechanism). So what I have found, those who take "diet breaks" get enough calories to come out of this mode.

So my question is, where you eating 1800+ calories during insanity?

Since insanity is so cardio based, it's highly unlikely that you will build any new lean body mass. If she did, she would be gaining weight. And since she is lean, it's very unlikely to gain mass while cutting fat.

3-4 lbs within 2 weeks? TOM may have popped in there somewhere and finally showed your progress. You should keep at it, and weigh less often.
