Trouble losing weight

I track my food and I eat the recommended calories to lose weight, but I am not losing anything. I basically eat Paleo ( with rice-minus egg and dairy). I have Hashimoto's Thyroid and a very slow metabolism. I also try to get the recommended steps in for that day, but that doesn't always happen. I need a gradual exercise program because of other auto-immune issues. Please advise! Thanks

How long have you been at goal calories and not losing weight?

How did you calculate your "recommended" calories? With your medical issues, if you just used population averages (ie MFP's calcs or online calculators) they wouldn't take that into affect and may have overestimated your daily calorie goals.

If you're not losing over a sufficiently long period of time, you're eating too much.

Hi! I also have Hashimoto's and am trying to get back to exercising. It can be very hard! I love Fitness Blender's workout programs and just started doing the FB Booty one. It's a nice introduction to exercise, only cost $8 and is a month long program. Hope this helps you!

I think consulting with your doctor, or a dietitian experienced thyroid related diets would be beneficial.
Knowing little about your weight or goals it is hard to recommend any exercise, but continuing walking, and increasing your distance and speed over time would be a good starting point.

    Cheers, h.
ETA you say you track your food. Are you weighing your solids with a digital scale, and liquids with liquid cups and spoons?
If you aren't, you are most likely over estimating what you are eating.

From what I have read about slow metabolism and thyroid issues building muscle through weight bearing exercises helps boost metabolism. I am still having testing done for thyroid issues but started body weight exercises in conjunction with cardio ( previously was pretty much running 5-6 days a week and only maintains). It took about 5 weeks but now am seeing fantastic results. Have lost nearly 8kg in 7 weeks. Eating about 1400cal (163 cm and 33yo), working out 6 days a week half cardio half body weight.

You need iodine - BADLY! Start taking Iodoral daily. Feed that thyroid! Also stop eating bread, which kills your thyroid.

Is your thyroid well medicated? If so your metabolism shouldn't be any slower than a normal person's. How long have you been on medication? When was the last time you had blood work done?
