Oh, you posted just before I did, so I didn't see it.Not all food react the same in our bodies and just trying to be helpful to remind people there is more to food than just the calories.
I think everyone knows this, so probably don't need a reminder. I was puzzled because you seemed to think this was new information.0 -

This is one source of one quote by the OP.
I expect most already know CICO knows refers to a closed loop system in a lab and does not relate that well to humans. The article does a good job as to why a calorie is not a calorie always when it comes to feeding them to humans.
Of course CICO applies to humans. How can it not?0 -

For weight loss, calories matter. For general health/nutrition and body composition, macros matter.
Now somebody will make the argument about eating a diet composed entirely of fat, carbohydrates or protein. Just because somebody will. Bonus points if they bring Taubes or MercoLOLa and their tinfoil hat pseudoscience rhetoric into the discussion.0 -

Actually, the terminology directly refers to an open system - calories out means the calories are, well, going out of the system. The laws of thermodynamics apply to all systems, open or closed, they just need to be stated differently for such systems.0 -

I love that the article quotes Alan Aragon in the 'All Calories Are Created Equal' myth.0 -
GaleHawkins' woo is far more "interesting" than the OP's article...0
