Running mantras?

What are your favorite running mantras? This morning, I found myself saying: "I am inspired by the sunrise; I am inspired by me!" One of my all-time faves is, "Slow and steady wins the race!"

They aren't really mantras, but I do favor a cadence of "MotherF^*&er" when it's really hard, and just recently I had to tell myself, "You sat through <all the grinding to get> crowns, you can get over this hill!"0

During my marathon I probably repeated 'My knee is strong because I am strong' in my head like 1,800 times.
Context: I had a knee injury (unknown cause) out of the blue 1 month before my marathon and I had to take 2 weeks off from any exercise so I wasn't sure I'd be able to run it.0 -
Last night, for the first time, I had a mantra...dontstopdontstopdontstopdontstopdontstopdontstop...all the way around Washington Park. And it was the first time I made it all the way without stopping! 2.62 miles. They weren't fast, only 4.5 mph, but I never stopped. Told myself I could slow down, but DO NOT STOP. Going to do it again tomorrow!0

I like to distract myself with affirmation ABC's. You say, or think, one good quality about yourself for each letter...I am ambitious, I am bold, I am caring, I am dependable etc.0

"Eventually this run will be over and I won't have to do this godforsaken activity for at least another 24 hours"0

"there is a pizza waiting for me, time to earn it"0

i should also mention that there is a lot of swearing going on in my head0

Not so much mantras as reminders...
If on a mountain trail and becoming distracted (which leads to trips and falls): Focus, Mike, focus. Repeat as necessary.
In the city, I might remind myself short steps, short steps on a steeper hill to keep cadence up. Sometimes I visualize rolling my feet over rollin' rollin' rollin' much the same way I visualize spinning on a bike, to remind myself to smooth out my footfalls.
Anywhere: if I spot another runner ahead of me, headed in the same direction, and I'm not doing a speed workout, I remind myself "don't chase the rabbit" or "run your pace".
Sometimes I have to tell my dog that when there are real rabbits.0 -
Left, left, left right left.
Left, left, left right left
If I die on a Russian Front, bury me with a Russian ...
If I die in a Chinese war, bury me with a Chinese ...
Tell my girl that I did my best
Globe and anchor on my chest
left righta left
left righta left.
I don't know but I've been told
Sargeant Intructor's gettin old
I don't know but I hear tell
He's going to run us into Hell
Left righta left
Left righta left
Really makes sense with 60 or so of your friends sounding off in cadence at zero dark thirty. Any other old schoolers out there?0 -
I can't say - I would get flagged due to all the curse words0
