Hi gang. I'm on here mainly to track my food but I thought I'd share the 24 things I currently do to lose weight and, (hopefully), gain strength. I'm male, 56 , 5' 11" and weighed in this morning at 179.5 lbs. I'm shooting for 168 lbs. I'm currently training with kettlebells, bodyweight, jump rope and dog rassling. ![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Feel free to share what yours are. Here, in no particular order, are the habits I've acquired over the last 10 years to keep myself fit.
1. Track food intake - notebook, my fitness pal, etc.
2. Have occasional treats
3. Walk a lot, (the dog, to the store, etc.)
4. Strength train 3x a week
5. Don't train without a plan.
a) have a number of 'plans' on hand for future training cycles
6. Metcon 3-4x a week
7. Stop watching TV - or at least reduce the amount: reduces exposure to commercials, (esp. food related ones). The 'mute' button is your friend.![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
8. Use some form of ad block on your web browser to cut out commercials, (for the same reason as above).
9. Drink water
10. Drink coffee
11. Don't drink ANY soda, (even diet)
12. Get enough sleep
13. Work on mobility
14. Weigh yourself once a week
15. Eat breakfast
16. Pack your lunch every day
17. Cut down on eating out, (see above)
18. Eat pizza, (well, eat out a little
)
19. Eat dark chocolate
20. Drink fresh fruit smoothies, (with whey protein)
21. Skip rope
22. Drink chocolate milk
23. Buy measuring cups, spoons and a scale
24. Eat on smaller plates
So what are yours?
