I'm in the same boat. We can do it!
I've been over 200 lbs since I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 14. After 15 years of a yoyo weight, I'm ready to take control with intentional and permanent weight loss. My 30th birthday is in early may, and I'm determined to be on the other side of 200lbs for that day. I'm currently walking two miles every morning and after dinner, and three workout classes a week. I want to reach 240 by the end of the year.
What's your plan?0 -
Oh wow! You have an awesome plan Tinkie! Unfortunately mine is just to get into the 200s.. I am starting from 380 and have lost 6.6lbs in the past week. I actually walk to work 3 mornings a week (about 20 minutes) and either go to the gym for 30 mins each day or take a 30 minute walk each day... also I am practicing portion control.. I have noticed that the foods I regularly eat werent necessarily bad just that I was eating too much of them so I have made some changes in that respect. I know that soon I will need to do more but this feels like the right place for me to start.0

I set my first goal at 250. I started at 309 and I'm down to 299 and change in just under 3 weeks.
I'm keeping it simple. I started by just walking like you. I'm a solitary exerciser. I like my own pace so classes don't work for me.
I'm doing the trial at AnytimeFitness and will probably join up officially next week. I start with 10 minutes on the treadmill then the recumbent bike. I did a couple weight machines today. The elliptical almost killed me. Body.not.ready! Then I cooked down with 10 on the treadmill.

Kat that is so awesome! Congrats on the loss so far! I am also an Anytime Fitness member but for a while I was paying for it but not going. However I resisted cancelling it cause I knew I would find the motivation someday! I hate the bicycles myself... too much rear end for the seats to be comfortable lol.. mostly I use the treadmill but I do better when I use the elliptical. I tried a couple of their dance classes that tou can do with the video on your own but mostly ended up just goofing around because I couldn't keep up.. at least I was moving though lol0

@KatD1226 that elliptical is something else! But walking seems to burn more calories, so I think we're in the clear
@Pandabear0324 Thats a great goal! I get you with those classes. Something just clicked one day when I tired Nightclub Cardio. My moves look NOTHING like the instructor's and sometimes I do a completely different move, but I take the points in staying and moving as much as physically possible.
Anybody else starting to think sore muscles are how God intended us to live?0
