How Much I Want to Lose a Week

Hi,
I forgot... How do you figure out what to put for your goal, of weight loss per week? I still have mine set to 2lbs/week, but have 47-48 to go now. Isn't it something like, .5 pound per week for every 25lbs overweight? Would changing my setting to 1.5/wk be too drastic? I have never hit my 1,200 goal, because I get exercise calories, and will go over. I can lose anywhere from .5-2 pounds, I'm not very consistent with staying on track, so I'm not sure if changing it would really make any difference? Sorry if this is all over the place or confusing, I'm so tired today

Your post makes sense (is not confusing). I don't know the rule of thumb for loss-per-week as a function of total-to-lose. Maybe another commenter will jump in with that. I wonder, though, what is the actual deficit you have averaged over the past 6 weeks?0

It's nowhere near -7000. Not sure on 6 weeks average, but in 2 weeks I averaged -4,766, based on Fitbits information.0

Is that your total deficit for two weeks or the calorie adjustment made by Fitfit to MFP due to activity?0
-
I set mine to 1 lb a week. Middle of the road. Sometimes I lose more, but i don't feel any pressure.0

With 47 pounds to lose, 1-1.5 would be a good start. As you lose, you'll be adjusting it down.0

That's the average in 2 weeks. Total for 2 weeks would be -9532. I have had a rough 2 weeks... For some reason, I have been eating a LOT since I started weighing my foods, and it's stuff I don't normally eat, like candy or pie. I really don't like sweets what so ever, so it's weird for me. Maybe I'm just craving actual sugar.0 -

Thanks! I do usually lose 1-1.5 a week anyways, I haven't lost 2 in a week for a while now.0 -
@Kimegatron, is this what you're looking for?
Pound per week goals
75+ lbs set to lose 2 lb range
Between 40 - 75 lbs set to lose 1.5 lb range
Between 25-40 lbs set to lose 1 lb range
Between 15-25 lbs set to lose 1 -.50 lb range
Less than 15 lbs set to lose 0.5 lbs range
It's bandied about here a lot. It's probably a good guideline but I don't know its origin.0 -
