Will my metabolism slow down because of this

Apparently if you go below 1200 calories a day your metabolism will slow down. Yesterday I was about below, about 1100. Will me metabolism have been damaged by this one day?

    That is a myth, you'll be fine. In the future though, try to hit at least 1200 to get the minimum nutrition you need. As a 19 year old girl though, I'd bet you can eat more than 1200 and still be able to lose weight.

    Going below 1200 calories is definitely not advised. But it will take months of under eating this way to damage your metabolism.

    No - but there is no need to be going below 1200! :)
    1200 is very, very low as it is (though still technically 'safe'). Anything below that is just being mean to your poor body!

    BTW, it would take long term dieting to cause any slow down and even then, it's a very insignificant amount.
