so I'm freaking out. I just went to my doctor for an eye exam and he stated I have neuropathy in my eyes. I'm confused because I've done a lot of research and it seems it my be retnopothy. I'm not saying he misdiagnosed me but it seemes eye neuropathy is really rare or is associated with feet neuropathy and I'm having no issues with anything else. Does anyone have any experience with diabetic eye neuropathy and if so can you kind of inform me on options or your experience? I go back in 6 months to see how quickly it's progressing. Right now it's diagnosed as very mild. Help!!!

Are you a type 1? What are your A1C numbers like?

I'm a type 1, my last a1c was 7.2. I have to admit my teenage years I wasn't controlled very well at all so I know I shouldn't be too surprised by any complications

So it could be old damage. All I can suggest is stick to a tight regimen over the next few months to see if there is any change. If it stays the same, call it a win.

I was at the eye doctor a few months ago for a diabetic eye exam. I was told I had be careful with my blood sugars because of pressure in my eyes and that I was at risk for glaucoma. I really don't want to suffer through diabetic complications like my dad did, so I'm trying really hard to make sure I'm trying my best to manage my diabetes to avoid complications. Also, I'd like to have kids someday and I don't want diabetes preventing me from doing that. Fortunately, other than diabetes I'm fine. I don't have any complications yet, but I need to make sure I don't keep getting high blood sugars everyday.
