Does anyone else have an Apple Watch and use it for fitness? Do you have any good apps you like to pair with it?

I just got mine and love it so far!

I do. I'm just using the stock Apple workout app right now, because none of the third-party apps are as useful yet IMO. The Workout app allows you to monitor elapsed time, distance, pace and heart rate on the watch face, and none of the other apps have all those abilities yet.

I try to close all three rings (Move, Exercise, Stand) every day and it's made me much more purposeful about moving and exercising. I used to use a Fitbit (the one you wore on the waistband), but I find the Apple Watch far more useful and accurate.

I have it. I started my weight loss on the day I got it. The rings helped me greatly. All I've ever used is the stock Workout app paired with MFP.

And to be honest, I don't pay attention to the rings anymore. I'm pretty close to my goal weight and I already do all the things that the rings were designed to get you in the habit of doing, so other than the stand reminder I turned all the other stuff off.

I look at that as mission accomplished. I initially got the Apple Watch to get myself healthy and back in shape, and now that I've done that and gotten in the habit of living that way, I just use it for all the other awesome stuff it does. I don't need it to remind me to be healthy anymore, because I'm doing it as a way of life.

Love love love my Apple Watch. I use the activity and workout apps daily. Just changed my goals on the activity rings. It took me forever to figure out how to do that. I had a Fitbit flex for a year and really liked it a lot. I used both for the first month I had my watch until I felt confident my steps were accurate.

A friend of mine got one. He keeps sending people his heartbeat, lol. I checked it out. The guy in the store was trying to sell me one. There's some cool stuff going on there and it's way less clunky and ugly than the other WFGs (Wearable Fitness Gadgets) with all the bells and whistles. I like how it pops your wrist - that's new and funny...but I already do my exercising. I don't need to be nudged into it, you know?

The circles are cool. If it does GPS and draws you lines on a map, like the guy said it would, THAT would be very cool. I loved Map My Walk for that, but MMW kind of punked out on me a lot, so I deleted that. I'd love to have something that draws me lines on little maps and saves them so I can look back on what I did, where I was, etc. I like those lines!!

It hooks up to the online calorie trackers like MFP, so yay that. The guy in the store said that if I couldn't make it do that on my own, they do it for me, so relief on that front. (Apple is getting closer to all the other stuff, where you have to learn stuff to use their gadgets and I don't love that.)

I can take my own pulse and I can exercise without being nudged, so I skipped it. But if it had been round, I honestly might've bought one just for those little maps. I'm glad I didn't. I always feel a little guilty spending big chunks of cash on frivolous items that I could donate to someone who needs it. But I really do love those little maps I kinda/sorta (sporadically) got from MMW.

I really like the Health app in the new iPhones. A lot.

If I were to get one of those WFGs, it would be the Apple Watch. If they make it round...maybe. May. Be.
