Okay, so my friend and I decided to make Vegan Brownies (for a reason we don't know, besides being awesome cooks) and they actually tasted pretty great!
I myself love chocolate but I don't love that icky feeling I get after eating it. These brownies are perfect, though, because they aren't as teeth cringing sweet! Remember, they are Vegan, NOT sugar free. I remember it saying they were about 250 cals each square. So it's a nice but rare treat to have!
Enough talk, let's get to the recipe!
INGREDIANTS:
- 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 2 cups white sugar
- 3/4 unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Pour in water, vegetable oil and vanilla; mix until well blended.
3. Spread evenly in a 9x13 inch baking pan.
4. Bake for about 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the top is no longer shiny. (Cooking time will vary on your oven. Mine actually took about 40 minutes because at 30 they were too gooey.) Let cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
(I got this recipe off some website but my printer didn't print the URL so I couldn't find it.)
Anyways, here's a few photo's!
