I was wondering is all fiber the same. Is fiber in bread the same as say beans or cereal or fruit.

There are two major groupings; soluble and insoluble.

Foods rich in soluble fiber include oatmeal, nuts, beans, apples, and blueberries.
Insoluble fiber (bulk) is found in the seeds and skins of fruit (so always eat your peels) as well as whole-wheat bread and brown rice.
Too much fiber at once can be counterproductive. Add slowly.0 -
Some soluble fiber is good because it feeds the good bacteria. Insoluble fiber is not so good, and should be
Minimized. Read the book "Fiber Menace" for full explanation.0
